Troops Rescue 11 Kidnap Victims, Arrest 21 Suspects
Nigerian troops have rescued 11 kidnap victims and arrested 21 suspected terrorists and collaborators during operations in Borno, Zamfara and Kogi states.
The operations were reported across theatres including Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East, Operation Fansan Yamma in the North-West and military support activity in Kogi.
Vanguard and Premium Times reported the figures on Thursday, citing details from ongoing military operations. The reports said troops also recovered weapons and other items during the raids and patrols.
In Borno, troops were reported to have continued clearance and fighting patrols against terrorist groups. In Zamfara, the operations focused on kidnap networks and armed groups affecting local communities.
The reports also said arrests were made in Kogi under military support operations. The suspects were described as terrorist suspects or collaborators, while the rescued victims were taken from captivity during the operations.
The latest figures come as security agencies continue to report separate rescue and arrest operations across the North and parts of the Middle Belt. The reports described the operations as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and rescue abducted people.
