Father And 15-Year-Old Daughter Die After Falling Into Kano Well
A father and his 15-year-old daughter have died after falling into an abandoned well in Kano State.
The Kano State Fire Service was called to the scene, but the rescue operation ended with both victims confirmed dead.
The reports said the incident involved an abandoned well and drew emergency responders after residents raised the alarm. The tragedy has renewed attention on exposed wells and other hazards in residential areas.
Punch and Daily Post both reported that the victims were a father and his teenage daughter and that the Fire Service handled the recovery.
The accounts said the daughter first fell into the well before her father also fell while trying to help. Emergency officials later recovered both bodies.
The case is a narrow local tragedy, but it points to a wider public-safety risk from uncovered or abandoned wells in residential areas.
