The Ondo State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in separate cases linked to a violent land dispute in Akure and an interstate armed robbery syndicate operating between Ondo and Lagos states.

Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu paraded the suspects in Akure. Vanguard reported that seven people were arrested over a confrontation that followed a land dispute at Adegbiji, via Kajola, around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

The command said firearms and other dangerous weapons were recovered in connection with the land-dispute case. Vanguard also reported that three alleged soldiers were still at large.

Daily Post reported a related interstate robbery arrest involving three suspects travelling in a Mercedes-Benz ML 350 SUV. The report identified the suspects as Promise Daniel, 34; Ifeanyi Umahi, 29; and Adaramoye Abayomi, 37.

Police said a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 18 rounds of live ammunition, an English-made Beretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition, a UTC axe and an iron cutter.

The cases are now expected to move through further investigation and prosecution. The arrests also show how land-related violence and armed robbery can overlap with illegal firearms in parts of the South-West.
