Troops Rescue Seven Kidnap Victims, Kill Two Kidnappers In Multi-State Operations

Troops have rescued seven kidnapped victims, killed two kidnappers and arrested four suspected ISWAP terrorists or collaborators in separate operations across Borno, Yobe, Benue and Plateau states.

The operations included rescues in Borno’s Gwoza area, arrests in Borno and Yobe, and separate operations in Benue and Plateau.

The report said troops of Operation Hadin Kai rescued two women and two minors who escaped from an ISWAP enclave in the Agapalawa area of the Mandara Mountains. A woman and her child also surrendered after fleeing the Gobara enclave in Sambisa Forest.

Troops working with the Civilian Joint Task Force arrested four suspected ISWAP terrorists in Gwoza, Gujba and Kukawa local government areas. One suspect was said to have admitted spying on troops along the Baga-Cross Kauwa road and supplying logistics to terrorists.

The report also said troops stopped an attempted ISWAP infiltration of Kirawa in Gwoza, while a Nigerian Air Force aircraft later killed another terrorist moving towards Marte.

In Benue, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke killed two kidnappers in a shootout at Tse Orbiam in Ukum Local Government Area and rescued three victims. Another two kidnap victims were rescued in Plateau after troops on patrol in Mangu intercepted suspects near Panyam.
