Three Siblings Abducted While Taking Mother’s Body To Benue For Burial

Three siblings travelling to Benue State with their late mother’s body for burial have reportedly been abducted along the Ogobia-Otukpo Road.

The victims were said to be moving from Abuja to Iklenyi community in Okpokwu Local Government Area when armed men intercepted them in the early hours of Saturday.

The account, first circulated by citizen journalist Meddy Olotu, said the family had suffered vehicle problems on the way and continued the journey around 2:00 a.m. after being delayed for several hours.

Olotu said the attackers took the three siblings and also went away with the corpse of their mother. The report did not give the victims’ names.

The incident adds to public concern over night travel and insecurity on roads linking Benue communities.
