Umahi Breaks Silence On Mary Habila’s Death, Says She Was Like A Daughter
Works Minister David Umahi has spoken publicly on the death of Mary Habila, the 26-year-old health worker who died at his Uburu residence in Ebonyi State.
Umahi said Habila was close to his household and described her as being like a daughter to him. The new comments come after NaijaTrend reported here that her family had fixed a Friday burial despite police insistence on an autopsy.
Reports said Umahi gave further details about the hours before Habila’s death, including what she was said to have told her boyfriend. The minister also pushed back against claims that his family had hidden information about the incident.
Habila’s death has drawn public attention because police in Ebonyi said a post-mortem examination was needed to establish the cause. Her family had earlier objected to the autopsy, while police said the procedure was important to the investigation.
