NAF Says Borno Airstrikes Destroyed Terrorist Enclave In Gezuwa

The Nigerian Air Force says its latest strikes in Borno State hit a terrorist enclave in Yaganari, in the Gezuwa area, after surveillance confirmed fighters and logistics hubs in the location.

The operation was carried out on Friday, July 10, 2026, by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai. NAF said the strikes destroyed terrorist infrastructure and killed several terrorists.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, said the targets were selected after credible intelligence pointed to renewed terrorist activity and a concentration of fighters in the area.

Vanguard, Daily Post and Channels TV all reported the same operation and the same location. Their accounts said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed structures and logistics points before the air component moved in.

NAF said the attack was part of its wider effort to stop terrorist groups from moving freely, regrouping or rebuilding operational bases in Borno.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved and said the air force would keep working with ground troops to disrupt terrorist elements.

The Borno strike is separate from the earlier Operation Hadin Kai reports on attempted infiltrations around Maiduguri and other axes of the state.
