Lagos State Police Command has busted a syndicate moving military camouflage uniforms and illicit drugs out of the state, arresting three suspects and recovering 47 bags of military gear.

Vanguard reported that the suspects were apprehended in the Epe area while moving the items in an unregistered MAN diesel truck allegedly destined for Eastern Nigeria.

Police Commissioner Fatai Tijani, who addressed journalists at the Lagos Command headquarters, named the suspects as Chinedu David, 29, Ezeagwu Chukwuma, 38, and Ifeanyi Ogbeanyi, 45.

Punch and Premium Times corroborated the story, with Punch reporting that 80 cartons of illicit drugs were also recovered alongside the 47 sacks of military uniforms and caps.

Tijani said the command also arrested 34 foreign nationals during a raid on a building in Lagos Island. The foreign nationals could not give satisfactory explanations for their presence in the country.

Premium Times separately reported that the police discovered the truck was conveying several sacks containing military camouflage uniforms as well as cartons of different types of drugs.
