IPOB Suspends Nnamdi Kanu, Radio Biafra Leadership Offices
The Indigenous People of Biafra has suspended the Office of the Leader and the position of Director of Radio Biafra, both previously held by Nnamdi Kanu.
The group announced the decision in a statement issued by the Head of its Directorate of State, Chikadibia Edoziem, according to reports by Punch, P.M. News and Daily Post.
IPOB said the suspension took immediate effect and would remain in place indefinitely while the movement reorganises its internal operations.
The Directorate of State linked the decision to security concerns, operational control and the need to stop unauthorised persons from acting in the name of the suspended offices.
The group also said actions carried out by individuals who are not authorised by the Directorate should not be attributed to IPOB.
The move marks a major internal shake-up for the separatist group, with the offices tied to Kanu’s public leadership role and Radio Biafra now formally put on hold.
Kanu remains one of the most prominent figures associated with IPOB, making the announcement a significant development in the group’s leadership structure.
