JAMB mop-up examination results and candidate ranking

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop-up exercise, clearing the way for the next stage of candidate ranking and admission processing.

The board announced the release on Tuesday, according to reports citing its Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin. Candidates who sat for the mop-up examination were directed to use JAMB’s approved result-checking channels to access their scores.

The mop-up examination was held on Saturday, June 13, for candidates affected by disruptions during the main UTME window. Reports said the affected cases included technical challenges, biometric issues and other examination-related disruptions that required a fresh sitting.

JAMB said the conclusion of the mop-up exercise would allow the board to begin ranking candidates. That process is important because it feeds into the wider admission cycle for tertiary institutions across the country.

The board also said printing of results for admission purposes is expected to begin before the weekend. That means candidates who need official result slips for admission processing may soon be able to access them.

The development comes after a difficult UTME season in which the board had to address complaints from candidates and parents over examination disruptions. The mop-up was designed to give affected candidates a fair chance to complete the process.

For schools and applicants, the release of the mop-up results is a key step before admission lists and institutional cut-off decisions begin to take shape. Candidates are expected to monitor JAMB’s official channels and avoid unofficial result-checking platforms.
