Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a deal to sign Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract that runs until June 2031.

The Premier League club announced the agreement on June 6, but said the move will only be completed when the transfer window reopens and after the usual regulatory approvals. AIK issued a matching statement the same day confirming the transfer agreement.

Official Statements Strip Away the Noise

That wording matters because it cuts through much of the transfer chatter that followed the deal. Brighton did not disclose a fee, and neither club backed many of the extra claims that appeared elsewhere about rival bids, bonus figures or Yohanna’s immediate international timeline.

What is confirmed is that the teenager broke through quickly in Sweden and did enough to earn a move to the Premier League before his 19th birthday.

What AIK and Brighton Confirmed

AIK said Yohanna leaves after 18 competitive appearances, with five goals and three assists. Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler said he is looking forward to working with a player who can affect games in the final third.

The move is one more sign of how closely European clubs are tracking young Nigerian attackers, but the next step now depends on registration and the summer window reopening.
