The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a wanted notorious supplier of ammunition and logistics to bandits and kidnappers identified as Yau Sule, the police commissioner announced on Friday.

FCT Police Commissioner, CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, made this known during a press briefing at the command in Abuja, saying the arrest followed strategic intelligence-led operations.

The suspect, from Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, had been wanted by the Command since 2023. He was tracked and arrested on June 2, 2026, while on transit along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway.

Items recovered from the suspect included 81 rounds of 7.62mm live AK-47 ammunition and 100 rounds of 7.62mm belted ammunition for a General Purpose Machine Gun.

The suspect also led operatives to the arrest of his sister, Maria Sule, wife of one Buhari Shuaibu, a wanted bandit currently at large and notorious for terrorising communities in the FCT, Kaduna, and Niger State. Preliminary investigations have linked the suspects to a network of logistics and ammunition suppliers supporting bandit and terrorist groups operating in Kaduna, Niger State, and border communities in the FCT.

The police commissioner also disclosed that three suspected kidnappers were arrested in a separate operation at Runji village in Zuba, Gwagwalada Area Council, following digital forensic analysis and actionable intelligence.
