The UEFA Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal is delivering all the drama expected of Europe’s biggest club showdown, with the match locked at 1-1 after extra time and heading to penalties at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Arsenal drew first blood inside six minutes when Leandro Trossard delivered a precise assist for Kai Havertz, who fired the Gunners into an early lead. The goal proved to be Arsenal’s only shot on target in the entire match as PSG dominated possession.

PSG pushed relentlessly for an equaliser and finally got their breakthrough in the 65th minute when Ousmane Dembele converted from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.

Nigerian fans have extra reason to watch, with Arsenal’s Noni Madueke seeing action off the bench and Bukayo Saka featuring prominently on the right wing. Madueke was involved in a controversial penalty appeal late in the second half that was waved away by the referee.

With the score level after 120 minutes, the UCL trophy will now be decided from the penalty spot in what promises to be a nerve-shredding conclusion to the 2025/26 season.
