The Independent National Electoral Commission plans to inaugurate a logistics committee for the 2027 general elections on Thursday, October 15, with transport bodies and security agencies expected to take part.
The inauguration is scheduled at INEC headquarters in Abuja. The commission’s leadership is expected to hold an inaugural meeting with committee members afterwards to discuss arrangements for the polls.
Channels Television reported that the proposed membership includes road, maritime and aviation transport organisations, the police, Air Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other paramilitary bodies. INEC is expected to explain members’ roles in election logistics and distribution arrangements.
