Eighteen people have been killed in a road crash at Wuya village on the Bida-Mokwa Road in Niger State.
The crash involved two heavy trucks and happened on Wednesday. Officials also reported 22 injured people, while the vehicles were said to have gone up in flames after the collision.
The Federal Road Safety Corps linked the crash to dangerous driving and said victims were taken to hospital after emergency responders arrived at the scene.
Road users on the Bida-Mokwa corridor have repeatedly complained about heavy trucks, poor driving and long rescue delays after crashes on the route.
