NIS Arrests 12 Suspects Over QNET-Linked Fraud Network

The Nigeria Immigration Service says it has broken up a QNET/IGNITE-linked network after coordinated operations that led to 12 arrests and the rescue of two Liberian nationals in Lagos.

The service said the suspects included Ouattra Adama, a Burkinabé national described as the alleged leader of the syndicate, alongside eight Liberians and three Cameroonians accused of acting as facilitators.

The operation followed intelligence on suspected trafficking activity tied to fraudulent employment and business offers. The NIS said the suspects and the rescued persons had been moved to its headquarters for further investigation and legal action.

The agency described the QNET/IGNITE network as a transnational organised group linked to irregular migration through deceptive job and business schemes. It also urged members of the public to verify employment, education, business and migration-related offers through authorised channels before committing money or travel plans.

The case adds to official concern over cross-border recruitment scams in which victims are promised work or business opportunities and later moved into irregular migration networks.
