Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged residents to report suspicious movements after reports of a possible threat to worship centres in the state.

The governor’s appeal followed a Department of State Services alert that was discussed with Muslim and Christian leaders in Osun. Punch reported that the DSS briefing warned of a plot by terrorists to move into parts of the South-West, while Daily Post reported that Adeleke called for stronger public vigilance.

Adeleke asked residents, especially those in border communities, to share information with the police and other security agencies when they notice unfamiliar movements or possible threats.

The governor also directed security agencies to review the situation and prepare steps to protect lives and property. He is expected to convene the State Security Council to assess the threat and coordinate the response.
