Three Siblings Found Dead On Father’s Farm In Ondo
Three children from the same family have been found dead on their father’s farm in Akure, Ondo State, after they were reported missing on Friday.
The victims were Joshua Jonah and Jacob Jonah, 11-year-old twins, and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah. The children had gone to the farm with their father, Samuel Jonah, around the Owena Army Barracks area on September 4, 2026, before leaving for home ahead of him.
When their father returned home and did not find them, the family and neighbours began searching the farm, nearby bushes and adjoining paths. Their bodies were discovered the next morning, September 5, near the bank of a small river within the farm.
The Ondo State Police Command said it had begun documenting and investigating the incident to determine what led to the deaths. The command’s spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that the children had accompanied their father to the farm and were later found near the riverbank after a search.
The deaths have thrown the Oke Ogba community into mourning. Vanguard reported that relatives, friends and neighbours gathered at the Jonah family home as condolence visits continued through the day.
The bodies had been taken by their father for burial, while police said inquiries into the circumstances of the deaths were still ongoing.
