Two police officers dismissed over the killing of 22-year-old University of Port Harcourt graduate Anthony Obodo have been remanded at the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre.

Corporal Alfred Louis and Police Constable Michael Ejekwu were brought before a Port Harcourt Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. The court did not take their pleas and ordered that they be remanded.

Obodo was killed on August 27 around Ada George Junction in Port Harcourt. The officers are among four policemen linked to the case, according to the reports.

Daily Post reported that Assistant Superintendent of Police Fabian Kpeanabari was not brought before the court, while Inspector Solomon Nworgu was said to still be at large. Punch reported that the court directed the case file to the Chief Registrar for reassignment.

The matter was adjourned until September 22, 2026, when the defendants are expected to enter their pleas and the case may proceed to trial.
