The Nigerian Air Force has carried out a precision airstrike on terrorist hideouts in the Yuwe axis of Sambisa Forest, eliminating multiple insurgents and destroying their fortified positions.

The operation, conducted on April 19 by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, targeted bunkers and logistics facilities used by terrorist elements. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions identified the locations before precision-guided munitions were deployed.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, confirmed the strike in a statement. A follow-up Battle Damage Assessment verified the effectiveness of the operation.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke reaffirmed the service’s commitment to sustained air campaigns. “We will sustain precision engagements across the theatre while adhering strictly to rules of engagement and minimising civilian harm,” he said.

The Yuwe axis strike marks one of the NAF’s most significant recent operations in the Sambisa region. It comes as the military continues to degrade terrorist networks across the North-East through coordinated air power and ground operations.
