Former AFAN, PAN Chairman Kabir Faskari Dies In Turkey
Kabir Ibrahim Faskari, a former president of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria and the Poultry Association of Nigeria, has died in Turkey.
Daily Post and Daily Trust reported that Faskari died in Istanbul after complications from prostate surgery. Daily Post said a friend confirmed the death after visiting him in Turkey shortly before returning to Nigeria.
Daily Trust reported that Faskari was also chairman of the Agriculture Business Group and had remained active in public discussions on farming, poultry production, food security and the wider agricultural economy.
His work put him among the familiar voices in Nigeria’s agriculture sector, especially through AFAN and PAN, where he spoke often on issues affecting farmers and food production.
Burial details had not been fully announced. Both reports said he was expected to be buried in Turkey.
