Kuje Area Council chairman Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo has come under scrutiny after telling residents who oppose the All Progressives Congress to leave the council area ahead of the 2027 elections.

The remark was reported from a video circulating on social media. Shekwolo said he would not tolerate opposition to the APC or President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid within the area council.

Daily Trust reported that the chairman linked his position to projects he credited to Tinubu’s administration and the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike. He was quoted as saying: “It’s either you are for the APC or you leave the area council. I am not arguing about it at all.”

Vanguard also reported the same video and warning. The statement is being treated as Shekwolo’s political remark, not as an established legal power to remove residents from the council area.
