Fifteen people have been rescued after a DAF trailer carrying passengers and goods crashed on the Kano-Zaria Road in Kano State.

The crash happened around Gadan Yankifi in the early hours of Sunday, August 23, and caused a temporary obstruction on the busy route.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Kano Sector Command, said the incident was reported at about 5:00 a.m. and that its rescue team reached the scene within five minutes of receiving the distress call.

The command said all 15 people involved in the crash were taken to Kura General Hospital for medical attention. It said no death was recorded.

FRSC Kano Sector Commander IM Lawal deployed a tow truck to help remove the damaged vehicle and restore traffic flow on the road.

The corps advised motorists using the route to slow down near the affected area, obey traffic rules and cooperate with emergency responders.
