Apapa Customs Sets New Single-Day Revenue Record Of N28.1bn

The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded N28.1bn in one day, its highest single-day revenue collection.
The command said it collected N28,102,000,914.61 on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, beating its previous single-day record of N20.1bn set in September 2025.
The new figure came weeks after the command reported N323bn in revenue for July 2026. Customs linked the rise to improved compliance, trade facilitation, intelligence-led operations and more use of digital processes.
Daily Trust reported that the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, dedicated the milestone to the Federal Government and Nigerians. Vanguard also reported the new record and the previous September 2025 benchmark.
Oshoba commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the service management for automation and reform support. He also urged officers at Apapa not to become complacent, saying lawful trade should not be delayed by avoidable procedures.
