Ogun Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects, Recover Three Pistols

The Ogun State Police Command says it has arrested two suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate and recovered three locally made pistols with 18 live cartridges.

The suspects, Adeyinka Onakomaya, 46, and Olayiwola Kehinde, 48, were arrested after a follow-up investigation into a stolen red Toyota Matrix linked to an April 2026 robbery case.

Punch and Daily Post reported that operatives of the command’s Anti-Robbery Team traced the suspects to different locations in Ogun and Lagos states after months of intelligence work.

Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi said Onakomaya was tracked to the Babaode area along Idiroko Road in Ota, while Kehinde was arrested in the Command area of Lagos State.

The police said preliminary investigation linked the two men and other members of their gang to the April robbery and to violent vehicle snatching incidents in Ota, Iju, Babaode and Atan areas of Ogun State.

According to the reports, a search after the arrests led to the recovery of three locally made pistols and 18 live cartridges. The command said efforts were continuing to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.

The arrests add to a series of police operations in Ogun targeting robbery groups accused of using stolen vehicles and locally made firearms around border and suburban communities.
