NAHCON Sets 2027 Hajj Fares Above N7m, Gives Pilgrims Payment Deadline

Nigerian Muslims planning for the 2027 Hajj now have approved fare bands above N7m, with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria setting different amounts for pilgrims based on departure zone.

The commission said pilgrims from the Maiduguri/Yola zone will pay ₦7,560,822, those in the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,672,822, while pilgrims from the Southern Zone will pay ₦7,882,822.

NAHCON said the Federal Government approved the fares after consultations with state pilgrims’ welfare boards and service providers in Saudi Arabia. The commission linked the final figures to exchange rates and service costs for the pilgrimage.

Intending pilgrims who had already deposited ₦5m are expected to pay the balance to complete their registration. Premium Times reported that new registrants were directed to pay through state Muslim pilgrims’ welfare boards, agencies or commissions, or through participating banks under the approved Hajj Savings Scheme.

The commission also fixed December 31, 2026, as the deadline for full payment. The fare announcement comes after NAHCON earlier confirmed the airlines approved for the 2027 Hajj airlift in a report here.

The new payment schedule gives state boards and intending pilgrims a clearer timeline for completing preparations before the 2027 exercise.
