18-Year-Old Dies After Falling Into Pond In Kano

An 18-year-old man, Abdullahi Aminu, has died after falling into a pond at Kofar Gabas in Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State.

The Kano State Fire Service said the incident happened on Tuesday and that it received a distress call at about 3:28 p.m. from Aminu Lawan, who reported that his son had fallen into the pond.

Firefighters were sent to the scene, but Aminu was brought out unconscious. The service said he was later confirmed dead.

The Fire Service spokesperson, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, said the victim’s body was handed over to the ward head of Kofar Gabas after the recovery operation.

The reports did not give further details on how Aminu fell into the pond.
