Woman Arrested After Husband Is Allegedly Stabbed To Death In Abia

A woman has been arrested in Abia State after her husband was allegedly stabbed to death in the Umuokereke Ngwa area of Obingwa Local Government Area.

The victim was identified in the reports as Innocent Nwaoji, while the woman was identified as Innocent Serah by Punch and Sarah Nwaorji by Vanguard. Both accounts said the couple married in December 2025.

Punch reported that the incident happened on Saturday night and that a community member said the woman was in police custody while the body had been taken to a morgue.

Vanguard reported that the couple lived around the Seven-Up Company area of Aba North Local Government Area and that residents linked the incident to a disagreement in their apartment.

The reports said Abia police spokesperson Maureen Chinaka had not issued a full response as of publication time. Punch said she promised to get back to reporters, while Vanguard said calls and a text message had not been answered.

The case remains an allegation pending a formal police account and any court process.
