Nigeria Immigration Deploys Passport Team To UK

Nigerians in the United Kingdom are getting a special passport intervention exercise after the Nigeria Immigration Service sent a team from its headquarters to help clear application problems.
The service said the team would work with the Nigerian High Commission to process pending applications, new applications and renewals for passport holders with less than one year left before expiry.
The deployment was directed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and carried out by the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap. The intervention team was scheduled to arrive in the UK on August 10, 2026.
The exercise will cover designated cities across the United Kingdom so applicants outside London can also access enrolment and processing services.
The immigration service said the move is part of its effort to reduce passport delays for Nigerians abroad and make the application process easier for diaspora communities.
