Portable Apologises After Walking Out Of Charles Okocha Rematch
Portable has apologised to fans and organisers after walking out of his celebrity boxing rematch with actor Charles Okocha in the first round.
The singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, was disqualified after leaving the ring during the Friday night bout. The rematch had been billed as another chapter in his public rivalry with Okocha.
Punch reported that Portable apologised to the organisers and his supporters after the incident. Vanguard also reported that the apology came through his management, while Daily Post said the singer asked fans to forgive him for walking out of the fight.
The bout followed an earlier celebrity boxing meeting between both men, but the latest fight ended abruptly before it could develop into a full contest.
Portable’s apology now leaves organisers and fans waiting to see whether another match will be arranged or the rematch will stand as a disqualification.
