INEC Opens Lagos Display Of 2027 Candidates Credentials
The Independent National Electoral Commission in Lagos State says public display of candidates’ personal particulars for the 2027 elections will begin on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
The exercise covers candidates contesting the presidential, senatorial and House of Representatives elections and will run at the INEC Lagos State office in Sabo-Yaba and relevant local government offices.
INEC said the display is required under Section 29 of the Electoral Act 2022. The documents are contained in Form EC9 and include candidates’ credentials, personal information and sworn affidavits submitted by political parties.
The Lagos Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Esther Emeh, announced the exercise in a statement on Friday. INEC urged registered political parties, candidates, election stakeholders and members of the public to inspect the documents.
Daily Post reported that the commission said objections or claims about any candidate’s submitted particulars must be handled through the procedures provided by law.
