El-Rufai Doctor Denies Forgery Claim Over Medical Report
Bello Abubakar, the doctor linked to Nasir El-Rufai’s disputed medical report, has said he wrote the document but denied taking part in any plan to forge or falsify records.
The new account follows NaijaTrend’s earlier report here on the criminal charges filed by the ICPC over the same medical report.
Daily Post reported that Abubakar made the disclosure in a statement submitted to the ICPC during its investigation. Premium Times also reported his denial of forgery claims, saying the doctor maintained that he prepared the report but rejected allegations that he conspired to mislead the court.
The dispute centres on a June 10, 2026 document titled “Medical Report and Expert Opinion for Urgent Medical Intervention”, which was submitted in support of El-Rufai’s bail application before the Kaduna State High Court.
Abubakar also denied authorising Mohammed Bala Aliyu, the person accused of using the report to swear to an affidavit, saying he could not recall anyone by that name and had not authorised such an affidavit.
The ICPC had accused the doctor of knowingly issuing a false report intended to influence official action. Abubakar’s statement gives his own account of the document while the legal process continues.
