The Nigeria Customs Service has warned Nigerians to ignore a recruitment advert being shared on social media, saying the notice is fake and did not come from the agency.

The Service said applicants and job seekers should rely only on its official communication channels for recruitment updates and other public notices.

Punch and Daily Post both reported the warning on Thursday. Customs said security agencies and government institutions had repeatedly cautioned citizens against unofficial recruitment notices because fraudsters use them to deceive people looking for work.

The agency also warned those behind the advert and similar scams to stop using its name to mislead the public.

Customs said Nigerians should check information carefully before acting on online recruitment claims, especially posts asking applicants to follow unofficial links or deal with people outside approved channels.
