Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters have abducted a pastor’s wife and three children in Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.

Vanguard and Daily Trust both reported the abduction, which took place in the border community in northern Borno. The reports identified the victims as members of the pastor’s family but did not give a confirmed rescue update.

Daily Trust reported the incident on Sunday, while Vanguard reported it on Monday. Both accounts tied the attack to suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists operating around the Damasak axis.

Damasak has long been one of the Borno communities exposed to cross-border attacks and movement by insurgent groups because of its location near Nigeria’s border with Niger.

Security agencies had not announced a rescue in the reports checked for this draft. The story will need an update if the family is freed or if authorities release fuller details.
