Police Rescue Abducted Cattle Dealer From Kidnappers’ Hideout In Edo
Police in Edo State have rescued an abducted cattle dealer, Peter Balogun, from a kidnappers’ hideout after a search operation in the state.
The command said Balogun was abducted on July 7, 2026, along the Igarra-Auchi Expressway and rescued on July 15.
Police spokesperson Eno Ikoedem said operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, the Violent Crime Response Unit and the Police Drone Unit took part in the operation.
She said the rescue followed clearance operations in Imoga Forest and nearby areas, where the kidnappers abandoned Balogun after sighting a police helicopter and fled deeper into the forest.
Balogun has been reunited with his family, while police said efforts were continuing to find the suspects.
