Troops Arrest 24 Foreign Nationals In Lagos Hideout Raid

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 65 Battalion have arrested 24 foreign nationals during a raid on a suspected hideout in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The Army said the operation took place at a secluded fenced compound in Imokun, around the Odo-Noforija/Poka axis of Epe. Members of a local vigilante group joined the troops in the raid.
According to the Army account carried by Vanguard and Daily Post, those arrested were 15 males and nine females from six West and Central African countries. The listed nationalities included Cameroon, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin Republic, Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau.
The Army said preliminary checks were being carried out to determine the suspects’ immigration status, purpose of stay and possible links to unlawful activity.
The 81 Division said the raid was part of efforts to remove criminal elements, undocumented immigrants and other security threats from its area of responsibility.
