Bandits Kill Residents In Fresh Attack On Sokoto Community
Bandits have attacked Lajinge community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, with reports putting the death toll between five and six people.
Daily Trust reported that six residents were killed and five others injured after attackers stormed the community around midnight and operated until about 2:20 a.m. Daily Post reported five deaths, eight injuries and the abduction of several women.
Both reports matched on the same community and the same overnight attack. Residents said the attackers fired repeatedly, caused panic and rustled livestock before leaving the area.
Daily Trust named the victims killed as Alhaji Dankane S/Ruwa, Samaila Isah Udu, Adare Dansisi Makeri, Danlami Abdulrahama, Maryam Dankane and Hamisu Adamu. It also listed Lawali Danjaji, Sani Ibrahim, Garba Adare Garbobo, Iliya Muntari and Adamu Yarkyeya among the injured.
Security agencies had not issued an official statement in the reports reviewed. The casualty difference remains unresolved, so NaijaTrend is reporting it as five to six deaths rather than choosing one figure.
