Bauchi Ex-Deputy Governor Loses Two Children In Road Crash
Former Bauchi deputy governor Baba Tela is mourning the death of two of his children, Mustapha and Ummi, after a fatal crash on the Bauchi-Azare highway.
The siblings were returning to Bauchi from Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area, when the vehicle conveying them crashed on Saturday. Daily Post reported that both died at the scene before their bodies were taken to a hospital in Bauchi, where medical workers confirmed their deaths.
Governor Bala Mohammed sent condolences to the Tela family in a statement issued by his media adviser, Mukhtar Gidado. He described the deaths as heartbreaking and prayed for the family to find strength after the loss.
The funeral prayer for Mustapha and Ummi was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi.
Punch also reported that Mohammed separately mourned Yakubu Ibrahim, his Special Adviser on Higher Education and a former Commissioner for Religious Affairs, who died in Abuja after a protracted illness.
