Guregi said the crash involved a trailer carrying about 40 passengers and a tanker.

The trailer was travelling from Gusau in Zamfara State to Shagamu in Ogun State when the crash occurred.

Five people died at the scene, while the injured were taken to General Hospital, Agaie, for treatment.

The remains of the deceased were deposited at the hospital morgue.

The account places the crash in Niger State’s Agaie area and identifies NEMA officials in the local government as the source of the casualty figures.
