Kaduna Hails Arraignment Of 24 Suspects Over Mob Killing
The Kaduna State Government has welcomed the arraignment of 24 suspects in connection with the mob killing of a woman at Maraban Jos, describing it as a step toward securing justice.
Punch reported that the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, commended the police for its swift and professional response in a statement on Tuesday.
Maiyaki said the government of Governor Uba Sani would not tolerate any form of mob action or jungle justice, warning that anyone found taking the law into their own hands would face the full consequences.
Daily Post confirmed the arraignment, reporting that the 24 suspects were arraigned before a Magistrate Court at the NDA Junction. More than 100 additional suspects are under investigation.
The victim, a teacher identified as Ummulkhairi, was lynched in Mararaban Jos on Sunday after being falsely accused of child theft. The killing sparked nationwide outrage.
