Police Investigate Ammunition Parcel Delivered To FirstBank MD
The Lagos State Police Command has begun investigating the delivery of live ammunition to the managing director of FirstBank, Oluwasegun Alebiosu.
Vanguard reported that CP Fatai Tijani briefed journalists at the command headquarters on Tuesday about the incident, which was reported on May 7, 2026.
Tijani said a parcel containing two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition was delivered to Alebiosu’s residence in Ikoyi, Lagos Island, by a dispatch rider. The parcel was marked confidential and bore no sender details.
The police chief said no arrests have been made yet but that the command was treating the matter with the seriousness it deserves. He said the investigation was intelligence-driven and ongoing.
Vanguard reported that the delivery came after FirstBank intensified its loan-recovery efforts and internal reforms, though it was not immediately clear whether the parcel was connected to those efforts.
