The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has concluded the 2026 Hajj return airlift, with over 38,000 pilgrims transported back to Nigeria.
Punch and Vanguard reported that NAHCON spokesperson Hajia Fatimah Usara confirmed the completion, with the final flight arriving from Zamfara State.
Usara said 12 pilgrims remained in Saudi hospitals receiving treatment, and the commission was working with Nigerian medical teams to ensure their safe return.
NAHCON chairman, Ambassador Ismail Yusuf, thanked President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their support throughout the pilgrimage.
The commission said it had already issued a circular dated June 15 outlining preparations for the 2027 Hajj, urging states to begin early planning.
