President Bola Tinubu has ordered immediate and permanent security reinforcement at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Plateau State, after a recent attack on the institute’s perimeter.

The directive was conveyed by Vice President Kashim Shettima during a visit to NIPSS, according to Channels Television and Voice of Nigeria. The reports said the attack claimed the lives of two soldiers and one police officer.

Shettima told participants of Senior Executive Course 48 that the incident had strengthened the Federal Government’s resolve to protect critical national institutions and support security personnel deployed to them.

NaijaTrend previously reported the NIPSS attack here. The new order marks the Federal Government’s direct response to that incident and shifts the story from the attack itself to institutional security reinforcement.

Voice of Nigeria reported that the NIPSS Director-General was expected to work with the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services on emergency security measures to fortify the institute’s perimeter.
