Insecurity: Adeboye Urges FG to Give Security Chiefs 90-Day Ultimatum to End Terrorism or Resign
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has urged the Federal Government to give security chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to end terrorism in Nigeria or resign.
Adeboye made the call in a video reshared on his official X account on Tuesday, expressing deep concern over the country’s worsening security situation.
“If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government: move fast and tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign,” he said.
The cleric also called on the government to intensify efforts against individuals and groups providing financial and logistical support to terrorist organisations, regardless of their status or influence.
“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, we should make it clear to them that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists; they should eliminate their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” Adeboye added.
His remarks come amid renewed public concern over insecurity, including the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
