Carter Efe Defeats Portable by Unanimous Decision at Chaos in the Ring 4
Carter Efe is the new celebrity boxing king. The skit maker outclassed street musician Portable across three rounds at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event held at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos — and all three judges agreed, scoring the bout 27-30 in Carter Efe’s favour.
It was Portable’s first defeat in the ring. He had previously beaten Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington to claim two belts and had entered Friday night’s fight with his trademark swagger. “I will use you to collect my third belt. Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you, and I beat them,” he had warned ahead of the match.
How the Fight Went
Portable came out aggressive in the first round, throwing wild, erratic punches — the same high-energy style that had worked in his previous bouts. But the taller Carter Efe absorbed the pressure and countered with crisp uppercuts and body punches that troubled Portable’s smaller frame from the opening bell.
Nothing changed in rounds two and three. Portable kept throwing wide shots and clinching, while Efe grew sharper and more precise, consistently landing clean combinations. By the final bell, the outcome was never in doubt.
The Aftermath
Carter Efe’s declaration after the fight: “I’m Carter Mayweather.” Billionaire businessman E-Money promptly gifted him ₦50 million for the win — which, in its own way, says everything about how seriously the celebrity boxing scene has grown in Nigeria.
Portable, for his part, had a very eventful night even before the fight started — his wife gave birth while he was in the ring. Despite the loss, he’s expected to remain a fixture in future events.
