NEMA says one injured in partial building collapse in Wuse II
One worker sustained minor injuries when a five-storey building under construction partially collapsed on Durban Street, Wuse II, Abuja, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said.
The agency said no one died and the injured worker was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
NEMA said its Abuja Operations Office received an alert at about 6:30pm on Saturday, October 17. Its Press Unit issued a statement on the response on Sunday.
The agency mobilised the FCT Fire Service and deployed its AYA Emergency Response Ambulance Bay team to coordinate search and rescue operations.
In its account of the site inspection, NEMA described the incident as minor and said the building had been partially pulled down. The reports did not establish what caused the partial collapse.
