FG announces 30-day NNPC petrol discount with priority for public transporters
The Federal Government has announced a 30-day discount on petrol sold by NNPC Limited, with priority for public transport operators nationwide.
Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele announced the arrangement at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday. He said the government would sell the fuel at cost and described the measure as a discount rather than a subsidy.
Channels Television quoted Oyedele as saying the offer would last for 30 days “in the first instance”. Daily Trust reported his statement that the government would have a negotiated landing cost reviewed monthly.
