African Democratic Congress national chairman David Mark says the party will comply with electoral rules but will resist attempts to rig the 2027 elections against it.

Mark spoke on Wednesday, October 7, when the Governing Council of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development visited the party’s national headquarters in Abuja. Former Chief Justice of Nigeria Olukayode Ariwoola led the delegation.

The visit was part of the centre’s engagement with political parties ahead of the elections. Ariwoola urged the ADC leadership to ensure that its candidates and members follow the Independent National Electoral Commission’s rules and avoid political violence.

Mark said the ADC would observe both INEC’s rules and the party’s internal code of conduct, contained in its Orange Book.

“We hold ourselves to the highest standards of good conduct as a political party. We will play by the rules. But we will not accept rigging or allow ourselves to be rigged out,” he said.

He also said the party was committed to conducting its activities in a way that promotes public confidence in democracy.

The Savannah Centre’s Council of the Wise, chaired by Ariwoola, engages political leaders and electoral authorities on peaceful and credible elections. The ADC unveiled its Orange Book in August as a set of governance principles and ethical standards for its members and public officials.
