Troops rescue 49 Kano travellers after Zamfara kidnap attempt
Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued 49 travellers from Kano State after a suspected kidnap attempt in Zamfara State.
The travellers were returning from Senegal, where they had attended a Maulud programme, when their vehicle reportedly developed a fault and suspected kidnappers attacked them.
The troops responded and rescued all 49 travellers. They were later handed over at night to the chairman of Tsafe Local Government Area, Garba Shehu Fanchers, for welfare support and medical assessment.
Local authorities were expected to help them return safely to their families after the necessary checks.
