Two seven-year-old boys die after fallen live wire hits Ondo shop
Two seven-year-old boys have died in Idanre, Ondo State, after a live electric wire fell on a shop along Apefon Road.
The victims were identified as Oloyede Ayo and Clinton Koleola. Reports said the children were inside the shop when the cable came down on the building, causing panic in the area.
Witness accounts said the boys tried to escape but came into contact with the fallen wire and were electrocuted.
Ondo police spokesperson Jimoh Abayomi said preliminary findings showed that the live wire fell on the shop. He said the command had begun an investigation into the circumstances of the deaths.
Police said they sympathised with the families of the children and would establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
